Have you ever asked that question?  Why me, Lord?  I know I have.  I also know that when I ask such a question from my heart that God always answers me and tells me what's really going on.

I have found that when we get born-again, we often think that we have arrived and that from that point on, we’re just waiting to go to heaven one day; and we think that in the meantime all the promises (blessings) from the bible are going to be manifesting in our lives.  But guess what?  The born-again experience is just the beginning of a journey (an adventure) here on earth.  God has only just started His transforming work in us when we get born-again.

Every person is called to be used of God and must be prepared by God.  That means, God wants to change you & me.  Change our personality into the image of His Son, Jesus.  And Guess What!  He immediately begins His job of changing us and won’t quit until we go to heaven.  He wants to change you into the very best you you can be  Change may be costly, but it’s the only way a person can function effectively and fruitfully for God.  Most people want to enjoy the benefits of the Christian life, but few are willing to pay the price.  God has a tailor-made education program for each of us.  If you will submit to it, God will make you ready for successful living and for the full expression of the work which He has called you to do Rom 9:20.

Testings:  God tests & tries every person who gets born-again.  You can’t get away from it.  He is sovereign and does not allow us to be tempted more than we can handle.  1Cor 10:13.  And always remember that all things work together for good to those who love Him ……Rom 8:28.  We can either progress by faith & perseverance or digress into unbelief & despair as a result of these testings of God James 1:2-4.  We need to learn how to stand on God’s Word.  Standing on God’s Word is the way to spiritual maturity & growth.  Faith comes by hearing the Word of God.

  1. Testings: are designed by God to improve the quality & genuineness of our walk with Him.
  2. Testings: throw us on the Lord & teach us to be dependent on Him.
  3. Testings: refine or purify us spiritually.
  4. Testings: show us what is real & what is not.
  5. Testings: show us what is of God & what is not.
  6. Testings: assess & examine our inner attitudes & sources of motivation.
  7. Testings: reveal to us our weaknesses & limitations.

Did you know that you were known by God before you were born?  Psalm 139:13-16, and that you were divinely destined to do something for God.  Eph 1:4; Eph 2:10.  The whole of your life is God’s training ground for you.  Learn from the lessons taught you by your life and run the race that is set before you.  Stop whinning & complaining.  God is a redeeming God and even you’re mistakes can be used by Him.  Always look to Him thru your problems and you’ll learn the lesson He’s trying to teach you.  If we simply throw a fit every time something goes wrong, we will fail the test and God will have to do it over again.

Marriage, Children, Jobs, Ministry?

God wants us to make available to Him all that we know, all we have been trained in, all our skill & experiences as well as everything you desire.  Everything we go thru in this life is for a reason.  God wants to be in control of you.  He’s given us a free will.  Stop fighting Him.  Stop fighting for your &rsquot;rights&rsquot; and say &rsquot; Not my will, Lord, but Your will be done in my life and in me&rsquot;. We may feel that we have little to offer, but God made us who we are for His purpose.  Don’t get discouraged.  Don’t get angry.  Give God everything you have and allow Him to do what He wants to do with it.  He may remove some things or even people from your life.  Don’t fight it.  Just say &rsquot;Yes, Lord, strengthen me&rsquot;.  It is amazing how much He can multiply with even the smallest offering.  Fishes/Loaves/ Feeding 5000 were examples in the bible and God will multiply what ever is sincerely given by you.  Give Him your life; however broken it may be.  However useless it may seem.  The bible tells us that He takes the foolish things of this world to confound the wise.  He wants you to learn to trust Him.  Not your flesh or your training or your money, or your friends.  Trust Him and His power and His Word to raise you up into something.  He’s the one who makes you a somebody.  Humble yourself under His mighty hand and He will lift you up.

God wants to receive all the Glory from the work that we do.  You must reach a place of brokenness sufficient to allow this to happen.  The enemy (Satan) is always making an appeal to that built in desire, which we all have, to be something special.  It is only in the lives of those who are described in Scripture as being &rsquot;nothing&rsquot; that God can manifest His power & glory.  Give yourself to Him every day.  Put on the Lord Jesus Christ every morning when you open your eyes.  Everyone needs to die to himself daily in a radical way, not just talk - but action.  We must come to that point of brokenness in everything; where we realize that we have nothing left of ourselves.  We need to come to the place where we have no more &rsquot;rights&rsquot; because everything has been yielded up to God.  Only then can we begin to be open to the new things that God wants to do within us and through us.  Up until that point, there is still too much of the old life left that gets in the way of God.  Examples:  Manliness, I can handle it.  Talents, my own.  The big &rsquot;I&rsquot;.  It’s my way or the Hwy.  Do it God’s way even when others don’t understand.  Jesus did.  Misrepresented or misinterpreted?  Hold your peace & pray.  Another is preferred above you?  Pray & accept rejection.  My plans are brushed aside.  Pray & accept injustice.  Need to confess sin & make restitution?  Renounce pride & accept exposure.  Others take unfair advantage?  Pray for Longsuffering.  One acts towards you in unforgiving way.  Pray & Forgive .  People expect the impossible from you?  Pray & give unconditionally.  Jesus approached the cross & His crucifixion as a broken man.  Not my will, Father, but Yours be done.  Bow your head and pray now.

Prayer:  Thank you, Father, that the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin & death.  I confess by faith that I walk after the Spirit and not after my flesh.  If God be for me, no one can be against me.  I am more than a conqueror thru Christ who loves me Rom 8:2, 4, 31, 37.  I am no longer overcome by evil because I overcome evil with good Rom 12:21.  I put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for my flesh Rom 13:14.  I count it all joy when I fall into divers temptations; knowing that the trying of my faith works patience.  I am letting patience have it’s perfect work in me that I may be complete wanting nothing James 1:2-4.  I endure temptation and am blessed in Jesus’ name James 1:12.

Father, fill me with wisdom from above which is pure, peaceful, gentle, full of mercy and good fruit James 3:17.  I submit myself to you, Father. I resist the devil and he flees from me, in Jesus’ name.  I draw near unto you, Father, and I thank you that you draw near unto me.  I cleanse my hand and purify my heart.  I repent of my bad attitudes.  I humble myself in your sight, Father and I thank you for lifting me up, in Jesus’ name James 4:7-10.

Thank you, Father that I walk worthy of you unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work and I’m increasing in the knowledge of you in Jesus’ name.  That I am strengthened with all might according to Your glorious power unto all patience & long suffering with joy Col 1:10-12.

We need to remember that when we pray scriptures over ourselves, we are reminding God of His word as well as praying the answer.  Praying the problem will not bring positive results.  It will cause you to stay in the problem because what you say is what you get.  But when we pray the answer, which is the word of God, we get the positive results.  Those positive results are the blessings you’ve been hearing about ever since you got saved!!

When you pray, believe that you receive and you shall have what you say.  Faith is believing you have what you say before you get it.  Don’t be moved by those adverse circumstances.  And always pray ’in Jesus’ name’.  Pray out loud and say the name of Jesus out loud.  The devil flees at the name of Jesus.  Talk Jesus talk and keep the devil on the run!

God Bless You All!!
